Frequently asked

How long does approval take?

2 business days for most applications. Journalists from recognized publications (TechCrunch, The Verge, Search Engine Journal, etc.) are prioritized. When approved, you'll receive your API key and press account details by email.

Can freelancers apply?

Yes. Freelance journalists and newsletter authors are welcome. Include a link to recent published work and the primary publication(s) you write for.

What counts as an "API call"?

Each domain score lookup = 1 call. Leaderboard queries count as 1 call per 100 results returned. Bulk CSV exports are treated as 1 call per batch (up to 1,000 rows).

What happens if I break an embargo?

Press access is revoked immediately. Embargo dates are clear and unambiguous — the lift time is included in every notification email.

Is there a cost?

Press access is completely free. We provide it because accurate, well-cited coverage improves the ecosystem — and it turns monthly reports into actual news events.
